BIG SUR

Big sur is a place where you can get away for the day or the weekend. I love hiking trails in this area. The road is a two lane windy road with hundred foot cliffs down to the ocean. Trails off the roads are good places to to take photos.

Down Time

No class, No job, No money

Recently I graduated from Cal Poly. I have been spending my time taking photos when its not raining or interning with photographer Chris Burkard. Its all been great, but I'm getting to the point of feeling worthless. Some days I don't even leave the house, and that makes me feel lazy. At least I am getting better at the guitar,ha. Not knowing what to do with your life is hard.People with college degrees are suppose to have jobs I thought. Taking pictures is the only thing I have seen myself doing for years now. I have been striving to learn everything I could about photography for last few years. I even received a concentration at school in photography. I have had a few photos ran here and there, nothing special, but its not constant enough to live off. Its time to start thinking what else I can do, which sucks. I am in a transition stage I guess. When your in school it seems like it will never end but it did and I am not sure what to do next. I just need a job, and a job I like doing. Criagslist jobs all suck and no one is hiring. Just don't want my degree to go to wast wearing a name tag and hair net.

Surf Photography

Surf photography is not an easy task. Swimming in waves that break in only a few feet of water with a camera is not easy. Trying to get inside the wave without getting detonated on the sand/reef is not as easy as the photos look. Take time, next time you see a surf magazine and try to imagine what the photographer had to go through to get that shot at pipeline. Gnarly!

Winter Time Swell

Winter time this year has just been swell after swell. I have had time to surf great waves and shoot some newly arriving swells. I just got back from rincon and had a blast surfing all day yesterday. Came back and went for a swim with my roommate with some nice evening offshore, which it rarely does. Winter time brings good waves which are a good times. Here are a few photos from my recent surf adventures. I wish someone would give me a job taking photos like these.

First Blog

I am new to this whole blog thing, but I guess I have time for something like this now. I recently graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and well... have a lot of free time on my hands. Looking for internships, jobs, surf, food, and photo opportunities is basically what I am up to. Not sure who is going to read this but if you want to know, there ya go. I'll try to post something worth looking at.
